3. Scope of Application
This policy applies to all members of the Art Institute for Training community — including students, faculty members, administrative staff, and anyone involved in any officially approved academic, research, or training activity.
4. Definitions
- Academic Integrity: Commitment to honesty, responsibility, and fairness in all academic work.
- Plagiarism: Using another person’s ideas, writings, or work without proper attribution or citation.
- Academic Cheating: Using unauthorized materials, tools, or assistance during assessments or evaluations.
- Fabrication or Falsification: Presenting false, altered, or fabricated data, documents, or results.
- Self-Plagiarism: Reusing previously submitted work without official authorization.
5. Roles and Responsibilities
a. Institute Administration
- Promote awareness of academic integrity through educational programs.
- Support the Academic Integrity Committee in carrying out its duties.
- Approve clear policies and procedures for handling violations.
b. Faculty Members
- Educate students about ethical standards and academic integrity.
- Design assessments and assignments that minimize opportunities for cheating.
- Serve as role models by demonstrating honesty and professionalism.
c. Student
- Complete all assignments independently without unauthorized assistance.
- Properly cite all references and respect intellectual property rights.
- Refrain from helping others cheat or plagiarize.
- Report any observed violations of academic integrity.
6. Types of Academic Misconduct
Violations of academic integrity include, but are not limited to:
1. Plagiarism
2. Cheating during examinations or assessments
3. Fabrication or falsification of data or results
4. Unauthorized collaboration on academic work
5. Reusing previous work in multiple courses without approval
6. Any behavior that undermines honesty, trust, or ethical standards
7. Disciplinary Procedures
Violations of academic integrity will be handled as follows:
- First Violation: Written warning and a grade of zero for the specific assignment or exam.
- Second Violation: Failure in the entire course.
- Third Violation: Suspension from the Institute for one academic term.
All incidents must be officially documented in the student’s record.
8. Academic Integrity Committee
An Academic Integrity Committee shall be formed by the Institute’s administration and include representatives from both faculty and management. Its duties include:
- Reviewing reported violations and issuing recommendations.
- Organizing regular workshops and awareness campaigns.
- Periodically updating the policy to ensure alignment with national regulations and best practices.
